IDS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Data Entry Specialist to join our Billing Team.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering medical data related to medical billing and insurance claims.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical terminology, excellent attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
The Job:
Enter and update patient information, medical codes, and billing data into the company database with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Verify and cross-check medical records, insurance information, and financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with providers and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.
Stay updated with the latest medical coding and billing guidelines to ensure compliance and accurate data entry.
Maintain an organized and efficient filing system for all medical records and billing documentation.
The Person:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical coding or billing is a plus.
Proven experience in medical data entry or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology.
Proficient in using computer software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with insurance verification and claims processing procedures.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
