Position Profile
the person Responsible for Designing/Testing/Implementing/Documenting and Supporting CN's major Project and Operations radio networks.
The PTC radio network will consist of the 220 MHz radio network using radios presently being developed by ITC, along with Cisco outdoor Wireless LAN networks deployed in the yards for locomotive downloads. The operations radio network is composed of various systems (dispatch and yard) and technologies (UHF, VHF, ATCS, etc) that will offer great challenges to the telecom engineer.
CN is looking for a motivated self-starter who can design radio networks in order to lead a successful major radio project deployments at CN. Extensive travel will be required during the implementation phase of the PTC project. The position will be located in Homewood, Illinois and will report to the Homewood US Telecom Manager and to the Montreal PTC-Telecom Manager.
Responsibilities
- Design of the project radio network including being responsible for upgrading the project plan
-Perform radio predictions in order to determine Project or Operation radio sites using InfoVista Planet prediction software.
- Provide guidance and support to field technicians responsible for installing the radios.
- Perform site surveys and post implementation propagation tests.
- Attend and participate in industry meetings with regards to PTC 220 Radio architecture
- Creating PTC radio and wireless LAN estimates

SkillSet
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience designing mobile radio systems.
- Previous experience with RF prediction software using InfoVista Planet (equivalent RF prediction software will be considered as well).
- Experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning software
- Experience deploying Cisco Lightweight Access Point Wireless LAN deployments or equivalent
- Familiar with US Licensing process (FCC)
- Experience and knowledge in design, implementation, operations of IP networking and services(DNS, DHCP, Cisco portfolio, network monitoring tools, WIFI, VoIP, MPLS, etc)is a very strong asset.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- English required (Spanish and/or French will be an asset)
The candidatemust clearly understand the business requirements of a 7/24 rail transport environment where safety and reliability are mission critical.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
